The HB Arts Council is powered by dedicated volunteers who share a passion for the arts and community. By volunteering, you play a vital role in supporting creative initiatives, strengthening local partnerships, and helping bring arts-focused programs and events to life in Hillsborough. Whether you have a few hours to give or are looking for an ongoing role, your time and talents make a meaningful impact.
Below are some of the ways you can get involved. No prior arts experience is required—just an interest in supporting a vibrant, creative community.
Event Coordination
Assist with planning and supporting arts events, exhibitions, workshops, and community programs. Responsibilities may include logistics, setup and breakdown, artist coordination, scheduling, and on-site support during events.
Community Outreach
Help build awareness and engagement by connecting with local artists, schools, businesses, and community groups. Outreach volunteers support relationship-building efforts and help expand participation in Arts Council programs.
Administrative Support
Provide behind-the-scenes assistance that keeps the organization running smoothly. Tasks may include organizing documents, tracking volunteers, assisting with communications, and supporting committee work.
Marketing & Communications (Including Social Media)
Support promotion of Arts Council initiatives and events through marketing efforts. This may include creating content, managing social media accounts, assisting with newsletters, updating website content, and helping share the story of the arts in Hillsborough.
